PROJECT

Liberia – Legal Professional Development and Anti-Corruption Activity

2015-2020

The Legal Professional Development and Anti-Corruption Activity helped to promote a more effective and accountable formal justice sector by strengthening the institutions that provide legal training in Liberia. Checchi provided technical assistance to the Judicial Institute, National Bar Association, Legal Information Institute, and the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law. Among other activities, Checchi developed specialized training courses, assisted in the implementation of a new law curriculum, and mentored counterpart staff in improved administrative and financial procedures. In addition, Checchi worked to strengthen the Anti-Corruption Commission’s ability to investigate and prosecute corruption-related crimes.
