Checchi provided technical support to CDIE in conducting case studies of USAID activities in support of capital markets development in India, Kenya, Morocco, the Philippines, and Romania. The studies drew upon previous work with venture capital and enterprise funds and reviewed available evaluations of other USAID capital market activities. In addition to providing technical specialists to participate in CDIE-led teams, Checchi personnel assisted with case study design, preparation of background papers, development of interview protocols, and analysis of study findings. The case studies were published by CDIE under the title Efficient Capital Markets: A Key to Development (November 2000).
