Afghanistan – Assistance for the Development of Afghan Legal Access and Transparency Project
The USAID-funded Assistance for the Development of Afghan Legal Access and Transparency Project works to improve the quality of legal services for all Afghan citizens. Checchi works with the Supreme Court and Ministry of Justice to improve operational management systems and the quality of professional training and legal education for judges and lawyers. In addition, Checchi is working with the informal justice system to improve justice outcomes for Afghans and forge greater links between the formal and informal justice systems. Finally, Checchi supports a variety of civil society organizations through a grants program to improve formal legal education and promote citizens’ awareness of their legal rights through public outreach and education activities.
